Tucked into Shoreline's Ridgecrest neighborhood, Tangerine Spa Studio offers a welcoming retreat where relaxation, personalized skincare, and thoughtful attention come together. With more than 20 years of experience, owner Katie has built a loyal following by making every appointment feel like a little escape from the demands of everyday life.

After relocating her business from Wallingford to Shoreline five years ago, Katie has embraced the neighborhood and the community that surrounds it. From customized facials and waxing services to supporting local school fundraisers and neighborhood celebrations, Tangerine is a wonderful example of a small business that values personal connections. And with some clients returning for more than two decades, it's clear that Katie's approach to making people feel cared for has left a lasting impression.

Q: How long have you been in business?
A: Over 20 years! I've been in Shoreline for the last 5 years.

Q: What service does your business provide for our community?
A: I offer customized facials and waxing in a warm, welcoming space where you can relax, be taken care of, and take a little time just for yourself. My hope is that you feel rejuvenated with every visit.

Q: What do you love the most about Shoreline?
A: I love the community feeling of shoreline. I think there is a lot of pride for people living in, working in, and supporting Shoreline.

Q: Why is your business based in Shoreline?
A: The building my business was located in in Wallingford was sold to a developer in 2020 and was going to be demolished. In looking for a new location a client of mine, who lives in Ridgecrest, sent me the 'for rent' sign on the space i'm in and I decided to make the leap to move neighborhoods and be closer to home. I live in NE Seattle not far from the Seattle Shoreline border.

Q: What inspires you each day?
A: To make my clients feel great. To provide a treatment that makes them happy and wanting more :)

Q: What has been your proudest moment in business so far?
A: Having clients that have been coming to see me since the beginning, over twenty years ago.

Q: How do you approach customer service, and what sets you apart?
A: Authenticity, respect, and thoughtful care are at the heart of everything I do. I value my clients’ time and strive to make every appointment run smoothly and on time. With each treatment, I ask myself, “What would make this experience even more meaningful, enjoyable, and worth coming back for?” I’m continually inspired to create a space where every client feels welcomed, valued, and cared for. I’m truly grateful that my guests choose Tangerine as part of your self-care journey.

Q: How does your business support or give back to the local community?
A: Tangerine is located in the Ridgecrest neighborhood of Shoreline. I financially help sponsor the Ridgecrest Elementary School auction and the Ridgecrest Halloween Parade. This year I also sponsored the movie night out. One of these days my life outside of work might slow down so I can even participate in some of these events!

Q: If you could change one thing about Shoreline, what would it be?
A: A couple more restaurants. especially for lunch.
